Join us Saturday September 25 for Taste of Syria with Takht Al-Nagham. This event, part of the Rhythm Foundation’s Axis of Love series, will feature a Taste of Syria dinner from 6-8 pm followed by a concert by the Takht al-Nagham Ensemble. All proceeds from the dinner support RAA’s TASTE series.
“As the performing arm of the Syrian Music Preservation Initiative, Takht al-Nagham Ensemble keeps alive the traditional music repertoire of Aleppo, long a center of traditional Arab music. The ensemble is led by violinist Samer Ali, who founded the group with other leading Syrian and US artists. Born in Syria, and now living and working as a physician in New York City, Ali is a member of the National Arab Orchestra.”
